Oscar-Nominated Marjane Satrapi Dies 'From Sadness' At 56

Graphic novelist and filmmaker Marjane Satrapi has died. Satrapi earned acclaim for her best-selling graphic memoirs, "Persepolis." The passing of the Oscar-nominated French-Iranian artist was announced in a statement issued by close friends and family. It said in part, "Marjane Satrapi died of sadness a little over a year after the death of Mattias Ripa, her husband and the love of her life."
