8-Month-Old Baby With Heart Block Gets World’s Smallest Pacemaker

He’s not even a year old, but little Cameron Knowles is a pioneer. That’s because he’s been fitted with the world’s smallest pacemaker. Cameron’s mom, Shakiara, suffers from lupus, and according to the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, that put her baby at risk of heart block, a condition that occurs when electrical impulses that control heartbeat are disrupted. Children born with the condition may require a pacemaker later in life. Inside Edition Digital’s Mara Montalbano has more.
