93-Year-Old Man Becomes Oldest to Scale Yosemite's Half Dome
Everett Kalin is now the oldest person ever to climb Yosemite National Park's Half Dome. The retired professor from Oakland, California, is a veteran adventurer. Last year, Kalin jumped out of a plane at age 92. On the day of his climb, he was accompanied by his son and 19-year-old granddaughter Sidney. Despite banging up his knees, the 93-year-old kept going. When Kalin finally reached the top after completing the 17-mile ascent, he had a hero's welcome.
