These are innovative, but creepy, robot inventions. In 2021, Engineered Arts in the U.K. released video of Ameko, a human-like robot with gender and race-neutral characteristics. In 2021, a police robo-dog sparked major controversy when the machine was deployed by NYPD at the scene of a suspected hostage-taking.
