Amanda Gorman Inspired This 15-Year-Old to Use Poetry to Express Herself

Amanda Gorman’s inauguration poem was meant to inspire people, and 15-year-old Isabella Hanson is definitely one of them. In 2020, Isabella launched a nationwide poetry contest called “I Matter” through the National Youth Foundation, in order to give kids and teens a voice about racial tensions and civil unrest.
