American Hostage Mark Frerichs Returns Home After Prisoner Swap With Taliban

Mark Frerichs went missing in Afghanistan in January of 2020, but has finally been returned to his family. Frerichs was kidnapped by the Taliban while doing contract work in Afghanistan. He has been held prisoner ever since. In exchange for his release, the United States released Bashir Noorzai, a Taliban member who had been held on drug trafficking charges for 17 years.
