3,000-Year-Old Temple Entrance Found in Peru

An ancient temple, hidden away from modern eyes, has been found in Peru. Archaeologists studying the Chavin culture say they discovered an entrance that dates back more than 3,000 years. The Chavin culture thrived before the rise of the Incas, high in the Andes mountains. This former place of worship was left frozen in time because of a safety concern. The lead archaeologist said the temple was likely permanently closed due to structural instability.
