Arizona National Guard Rescues 3 Stranded Hikers Using Blackhawk Helicopter
An Arizona National Guard team rescued three stranded hikers from Haribo Canyon, north of Sedona. The trio of out-of-town outdoor enthusiasts had been hiking and rock-climbing. They’d only planned to be out for a few hours, but when harsh weather rolled in, they were trapped in the canyon. They ended up spending more than 48 hours in the cold, with few supplies. One of the hikers, Scott Brand, told KPHO, “I was concerned about frostbite -- losing a foot.”
