Artist Recreates Picasso’s Guernica on Destroyed Bridge in Ukraine

An artist is recreating a famous painting as he sees history repeating itself in Ukraine. Roberto Marquez of Mexico is bringing new life to a destroyed bridge in Kyiv by painting a replica of Picasso’s Guernica on it. Guernica was the artist’s iconic protest piece created after the Basque and Spanish city of the same name was bombed by the Germans in 1937 with the support of country’s dictator at the time.
