Author Salman Rushdie Stabbed at Speaking Event: Cops

Author Salman Rushdie was stabbed while on stage at a speaking event in New York, according to the State Police. Authorities say the attacker ran up on stage and attacked Rushdie and an interviewer, who sustained a minor head injury. They say Rushdie was stabbed in the neck and rushed to a hospital by helicopter. The suspect was restrained and taken into custody. A motive is not yet known.
