Blind Man to Run NYC Marathon Without Assistance Using App He Helped Create
Like thousands of other gluttons for punishment, Simon Wheatcroft will be running the New York City Marathon this weekend. But if running 26.2 miles wasn't enough, Simon has two additional challenges: He's legally blind, and he'll be running the race on his own. He'll be using an app called Wayband, which he helped create, to help guide him. The app uses GPS technology to deliver vibrations to its users, telling them when to move left or right.
