Bodega Challenge Creator Tries to Help Stranded Woman on NYC Highway

Ahmed Alwan caught the attention of former President Barack Obama with his “Bodega Challenge” in early 2020, which happened to coincide with the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. Alwan became New York City’s favorite bodega employee and is clearly no stranger to helping others in need. So when he noticed a woman who ran out of gas stuck on Manhattan’s FDR drive, he felt he had to act. That encounter may potentially lead to something even greater.
