Brazilian Researchers Find Pit Viper Venom May Be Able to Fight Coronavirus

We don’t think of venomous snakes as having many health benefits for humans. But researchers in Brazil think that the venom of a pit viper may be able to help fight the coronavirus. They’ve found that a molecule in the venom of a South American pit viper -- the jararacussu -- inhibited production of the coronavirus in monkey cells. It can do so without harming other cells. Their findings were published in the journal “Molecules.”
