Can Animal Ventilators Be of Aid to People With Coronavirus Who Need Them?

With New York reportedly five days away from running out of ventilators, Gov. Andrew Cuomo has turned to the private sector to source the much-needed machines. Can ventilators used for animals be repurposed to help humans in need? It turns out, the same machine that can keep animals breathing during surgery can also work on humans. Another source of ventilators could be plastic surgeons, who often have ventilators in their offices for elective procedures.
