The New York City Metropolitan Transit Authority (MTA) hopes that new, physical barriers like spikes and paddles on subway turnstiles will deter fare evaders, but we found plenty of folks ducking the turnstiles at those stations. And the MTA has worked with contractors to provide new, plexiglass doors to try and crack down even further.
