'Captain Kip' Takes Veterans on Free Fishing Trips: 'It Helps Me to Help Them'

On a recent summer morning, a group of men set out on a fishing expedition off the south coast of New York's Long Island. They've never met each other. What they have in common - they're all veterans. They owe the outing to Kip Johannesen, aka Captain Kip. The former commercial diver broke his neck in an accident. After an extended recovery, he decided to start a nonprofit called WAVES, or Wheelchairs and Veterans Enjoying Summer.
