Chaos at Sea: Passengers Rescued From Stranded Norwegian Cruise Ship

A luxury cruise off the coast of Norway turned into a terrifying ordeal when engine trouble forced the crew of the Viking Sky to send out a mayday signal on Saturday. Rough seas, big waves and high winds made rescuing the 1,373 people on board by boat impossible, so helicopters pulled 479 passengers up one-by-one with winches, according to the Associated Press. The captain then made the decision to bring the ship and its remaining passengers to shore using its other engines and tugboats on Sunday.
