Climate Activist Greta Thunberg Detained While Protesting Turbines
Climate activist Greta Thunberg was detained by police in Norway. Protesters gathered outside Norway’s Ministry of Finance to demand the removal of 151 wind turbines that were built on the reindeer pastures of Indigenous lands. While the group supports the move to green energy, they say it should not come at the expense of human rights. Thunburg, who is Swedish, says she will continue to protest and be in solidarity with the Indigenous community in Norway.
