Comedian Amanda Nicastro Selflessly Donates Kidney for Sister: 'I'm Not a Hero'

When Amanda Nicastro's sister Brenna was diagnosed with chronic kidney disease, her family knew it was not a matter of if she would need a transplant, Amanda told InsideEdition.com, "it was a matter of when." Amanda, a comedian based in New York, was not a blood-type match to give a kidney to her sister. But she was able to donate a kidney in a paired kidney exchange. The "momentous experience," Amanda says, "had some really funny moments, too."
