Toddler Kidnapped 25 Years Ago Found Alive

A toddler kidnapped in 1999 has been found alive, living in Mexico. Andrea Michelle Reyes, who was 23-months-old at the time is now 27. Police in New Haven, Connecticut, say she was abducted by her mother who did not have legal custody of her. Law enforcement tried to bring her home but learned that " federal charges or extradition from Mexico would be unsuccessful," Sgt. John Moore said in a press conference. The case was revisited in 2023 and using DNA technology Reyes was found living in Mexico.
