    Doctor Testifies George Floyd Suffered Brain Damage Due to Lack of Oxygen

    The murder trial of former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin continued Thursday with testimony from pulmonologist Dr. Martin Tobin, a leading expert on breathing. Tobin told the jury that George Floyd died from lack of oxygen, refuting the defense claim that he died of a drug overdose. “A healthy person subjected to what Mr. Floyd was subjected to would have died,” Tobin said. He estimated that Chauvin put about 91 pounds of pressure on Floyd’s neck.
