Was a Lawyer Fired Over Mel Gibson’s Gun Rights?

DOJ attorney Liz Oyer says she was fired after refusing to restore Mel Gibson's gun rights. According to the New York Times, Gibson tried to buy a gun but was denied due to his past criminal offense. In 2011, he was convicted of misdemeanor domestic violence after striking his ex-girlfriend. A Department of Justice official, speaking on the condition of anonymity, tells Inside Edition the disagreement over Gibson played no role in the decision to dismiss the attorney.
