Who needs skis when you have a shovel? The winter sport speed demons at the World Championship Shovel Races ride down groomed slopes at more than 60 miles per hour! All you need is an aluminum snow shovel and no fear. The shovel racing tradition began at the Angel Fire Resort in New Mexico in the early 1980s, and has been picking up speed ever since.
