Dozens Hurt as Stadium Seating Collapses at Kabaddi Championship in India

It was a frightening scene at a sports stadium in India as a spectator stand collapsed in seconds. Dozens of people fell as the stand seemed to vanish from sight. Police reported over more than a hundred people were injured when the temporary structure gave way. It happened in the city of Suryapet in the Indian state of Telangana. The crowd was gathered for the 47th Junior National Kabaddi Championship. Kabaddi is a team contact sport popular in south Asia.
