Dutch Designer in Denmark Beats Guinness World Record for Tallest Sand Castle

The world’s tallest sand castle was unveiled this week in Denmark, at the Sand Sculpture Festival in Blokhus. The structure is more than three meters taller than the previous record holder. Designed by Wilfred Stijger from the Netherlands, it took nearly 5 tons of sand, and a team of 30, to put it together. One admirer told Reuters, "It's beyond beautiful. It looks like a piece of architecture from Rome.”
