Elizabeth Smart Reflects on Rescue 20 Years Later

Twenty years later, Elizabeth Smart is reflecting on the experience of being kidnapped. When she was 14 years old, Smart was abducted from her bed. She was held captive by Bryan David Mitchell and his wife, Wanda Barzee. Smart was raped and abused on a daily basis. However, nine months later she was miraculously rescued. Mitchell is currently behind bars, serving a life sentence. Barzee was released from prison in 2018.
