Endangered Rhino May Be Saved Through IVF

Reproductive technology may save northern white rhinos, a critically endangered species. There are now just two in the world.  Both live in the Ol Pejeta Conservancy in Kenya. They’re kept safe from poachers who want their valuable horns by armed guards who are with them 24 hours per day. In vitro fertilization and stem cell technology that have been widely used in humans are now being tested on rhinoceros. Scientists say they are racing against time to save the northern white rhino.
