Firefighters, Cops, and Sanitation Workers Face Unpaid Leave Over Vaccines
October 28, 2021
Hundreds of New York City firefighters, police, and sanitation workers marched on the mayor’s residence, vowing to defy the city’s vaccine mandate on city workers. Some even tossed garbage on the front lawn of Gracie Mansion, where Mayor Bill de Blasio lives. They’re calling this their last stand -- they have until October 29 to get the coronavirus vaccine or face unpaid leave. De Blasio says he is confident that they’ll come around once they start missing paychecks.
