Attorney Jason Kurland says the first thing winners should do is “stay quiet,” adding, “You don’t need people knocking on your door” before you even have the money. Kurland also recommends making sure you sign your winning ticket right away. “God forbid you lose it, and someone else signs it and brings it in, it’s their ticket.”
