Formerly Homeless Man to Finish Degree 40 Years After Dropping Out of College

David Carter may have been homeless, but it's not stopping him from getting a college degree. He dropped out of school in the 1970s after struggling with mental health issues, but he never stopped dreaming of returning to the classroom. He's registered for classes at the University of Texas at Austin. It was made possible thanks to help from a journalism student on campus, Ryan Chandler, who profiled Carter for the school newspaper.
