Hank Aaron’s Vaccine Did Not Contribute to His Death, Medical Examiner Says

January 27, 2021

Baseball legend Hank Aaron died of natural causes, the Fulton County Medical Examiner's Office said, debunking rumors that his death was somehow related to the COVID-19 vaccine he received earlier in the month. The 86-year-old Hall of Famer was vaccinated on Jan. 5 as part of a campaign to encourage Black people to get their shots. He died in his sleep 18 days later, and anti-vaxxers pounced on the coincidence. But officials stressed that Aaron’s passing was completely unrelated to the vaccine.
