New York City is going ahead with plans for its iconic Times Square ball drop. Just 15,000 vaccinated partygoers will be there to see it, and some began taking their places over 12 hours before midnight. Health experts warn that those who are not vaccinated will be at special risk from the fast-spreading Omicron variant of COVID-19.
