More than a year after being diagnosed with papillary thyroid carcinoma, and after multiple surgeries and one round of radiation, doctors told Emily Sadler's mom, Amy, the cancer was gone. Amy enlisted the help of Emily's classmates, who made signs and banners to deliver the news. Emily broke down in tears, describing the moment as "lit."
