High School Summer Reading List Stirs Anti-Police Controversy in South Carolina

This summer reading list is stirring up controversy in a South Carolina town. Two of the books English 1 college prep students at Wando High School have the option of reading discuss police brutality. And a local police organization is not pleased. "I was pretty appalled," said John Blackmon of the Tri-County Fraternal Order of Police. The books in question are 'All American Boys' by Jason Reynolds and Brendan Kiely and 'The Hate U Give' by Angie Thomas.
