After nearly four years spent inside a church, Alex Garcia was able to step outside. Garcia originally fled violence in Honduras, and has lived in the States for 15 years. But in the fall of 2017, the Trump administration denied his petition for a stay of removal. That meant he could be deported. So he took sanctuary in a Maplewood, Missouri church. And there he stayed, until this week. His wife Carly explained, “ICE made a promise that he is no longer a priority for deportation."
