Hospital Says Unvaccinated Man Can’t Get Heart Transplant With COVID

A man who has resisted getting the COVID-19 vaccine is now facing a life-or-death decision. Young Boston father DJ Ferguson’s heart is failing fast, and he needs a new one as soon as possible. He was on the top of the transplant list but when the hospital discovered he wasn’t vaccinated for COVID, they took him off the list. A representative from Brigham and Women’s Hospital told Inside Edition that the COVID-19 vaccine is one of several vaccines required for transplant candidates.
