Boats Go Up in Flames

The flames could be seen from a distance as a dock of boats caught fire. It happened on Lake Powell in Arizona. A business owner who was nearby said he used a garden hose to try and put out the flames until firefighters arrived. About ten houseboats burned for roughly 90 minutes. Witness Heather Rankin told KPHO “As the fire was coming up, the wind was blowing the fire almost sideways.” The fire’s cause is under investigation.
