Authorities say the boy, who lived on the first floor of the Bronx building, had a history of playing with stove burners. It is possible to child-proof your stove by removing the knob and installing a plastic cover. The covers are under $10 and could prevent a tragedy like the deadly fire in New York City, which killed 12.
