Can front-loading washing machines turn into death traps for inquisitive children? Since 2014, an estimated 3,000 children under the age of 5 have been rushed to the emergency room for injuries associated with front-loading washing machines, according to the Consumer Product Safety Commission. Just last weekend, a 3-year-old boy from Orlando, Florida, died after climbing inside a front-loading washing machine. Parents can take steps to prevent such tragedies.
