Florida Man Sleeps on Garage Roof in Protest

No fights with FEMA will get Rick Loughrey to depart from the roof of his Florida garage. Fort Myers Beach says Loughery has to tear down the garage he and his wife Amy built to code in 2019. The Loughery’s home was lost during the hurricane. FEMA guidelines state since the garage was laterally attached to the home during the hurricane, it has to be demolished. Loughrey argues the garage was a separate structure and that he should be allowed to rebuild his home on the same property.
