An Inside Look Into Underground Cold War Bunker

Before Diefenbunker became a museum, it served as a nuclear fallout shelter and underground bunker during the height of the Cold War. Located outside of Ottawa, Canada, it was built by the Canadian government in 1959. At the end of the nearly 400-foot tunnel, there are 2-ton doors that lead those seeking shelter through a decontamination process to wash off any nuclear contamination. There's also a medical center, cafeteria and a game room inside the bunker. Inside Edition’s Alison Hall took a tour of the bunker.
