Italian Coast Guard Rescues Evacuees From Burning and Sinking Yacht off Sardinia

The Italian Coast Guard recently responded to a dramatic scene: a 50-foot yacht, on fire and taking on water, off the coast of Sardinia. Thick clouds of smoke could be seen billowing into the southern European sky. The leisure craft, called the Lady MM, had been traveling from Capri to Sardinia. Two Coast Guard boats and a helicopter responded to the sinking vessel, and were able to bring the passengers and crew to safety.
