John Bobbitt Didn’t Want Wife Lorena to Go to Jail for Cutting Off His Penis

Lorena Bobbitt made headlines in 1993 for cutting off her husband John’s penis while he slept. She said he had raped her, which he denied. Lorena drove a few blocks from their home and threw his organ out the window. It was later found and reattached, and she was arrested. Just before a judge delivered a verdict, Inside Edition spoke to John, who said he did not want to see his wife go to jail. She was acquitted of malicious wounding by reason of temporary insanity. The couple divorced in 1995.
