Kansas City Mom Shot After 12-Year-Old Protects Baby Brother From Shooter

A mother of three says she’s had nightmares after being shot in her own home. The incident was caught on the family’s security cameras. Olivas’ 12-year-old daughter held on to her baby brother and ran inside. Olivas was shot in the leg. She’s had three surgeries so far and is in physical therapy to try to repair the damage. The Kansas City Police Department says a 16-year-old is currently in custody with charges related to this shooting.
