Kenneth Smith Is First Inmate Executed by Nitrogen Hypoxia

Some of the last words of a condemned man were read out loud after his passing. The state of Alabama executed Kenneth Smith for the 1988 murder of a pastor’s wife. It was the first time nitrogen hypoxia was used as a method of execution. Witnesses and supporters of Smith called it inhumane, but the children of the victim tell local media they were for the execution. Inside Edition Digital’s Mara Montalbano has more.
