Kids Found After Being Lost in Woods for 14 Hours Want Cheeseburgers

Three kids wandered off the path in the Sam Houston National Forest in Texas, triggering a search in the dense woods. After 14 hours overnight, the kids were found by a volunteer rescuer. The kids, aged 6 and 7, followed the grownups out of the woods. Sergeant Jason Smith tried to keep the kids’ spirits up as he led them on a 20-minute excursion to the edge of the forest. “You want cheeseburgers?” he asked the kids, who said they had no food or water the whole time they were lost — and they did.
