M. Leona Godin Shares Misconceptions About Blind People in ‘There Plant Eyes’

“There are a lot of assumptions that many sighted people make about blind people,” literary scholar M. Leona Godin told Inside Edition Digital. Godin, who is blind, continued, “I think that a lot of them come to us from our cultural representations, for example from films and from novels, that importantly have not been created by blind and visually impaired people themselves.” Godin is the author of the recent book “There Plant Eyes: A Personal and Cultural History of Blindness.”
