Man With Down Syndrome Breaks Barriers as 1st to Win Major Business Award
John Cronin 23, co-founder of John's Crazy Socks, is the first man with Down syndrome to win a major business award. John and his father, Mark Cronin, started the company together after John finished high school. More than half of the company's employees have differing abilities. Building their own father-son business was especially important to Mark, who explained that he wanted to create a business that welcomed and celebrated employees with differing abilities. The company also gives back, donating 5% of its earnings to the Special Olympics.
