Marathon Runner Carries Lost Dog Down From 1,000-Foot Cliff in Hawaii

As Sergio Florian neared the summit of the 1,000-foot cliff, he saw a terrified dog unable to come down by herself. That’s when the 44-year-old marathon runner decided to carry the 45-pound dog down the mountain. "I was really afraid she'd freak out and squirm at the worst possible time, putting my life at risk," says Florian. After 45 minutes, the athlete safely rescued the dog. The dog, named Stevie, is now back at home with his owner.
