Is Daryl Hannah’s ‘EcoWarrior’ Barbie Announcement for Real?

In a video, "Splash" actress Daryl Hannah made a huge announcement "that by 2030 all Mattel toys will be plastic-free.” However, her big announcement was a hoax. In a statement, Mattel says “this is a hoax and has nothing to do with Mattel or any of its products.” The actress and eco-activist says she created the fake promotional campaign to bring awareness to the damaging effects of plastic on the environment.
